TDU 217 – Terry Cosgrove of Personal Pac: A Woman’s Right to Choose…Not for Much Longer

Date: Monday July 19th 2010, 07:00am

Location: Deerfield Public Library, 920 Waukegan Rd., Deerfield

Instructor: Terry Cosgrove President and C.E.O. of Personal PAC

Tenth Dems University welcomes Terry Cosgrove, President and C.E.O. of Personal PAC, who will speak on “A Woman’s Right to Choose….Not for Much Longer.”

If an anti-abortion majority wins control of Congress in 2010, high on the agenda will be control of the federal judiciary. Their aim…to finally overturn court rulings which give women the right to decide how to deal with their own pregnancies. The threat is real, and unless supporters of choice stand up in this election, the damage could be severe.

Terry Cosgrove will be our guest speaker to talk about the dangers that lie ahead and why we should be worried. Personal PAC is a bipartisan political action committee dedicated to electing pro-choice candidates to state and local office in Illinois.

Personal PAC believes that pro-choice forces are currently facing an unprecedented attack on reproductive rights. Anti-choice candidates and legislation, on both the state and national level, are threatening to dangerously restrict and deny access to safe and legal abortions. This renewed assault on reproductive and abortion rights must be reversed with an electoral strategy designed to defeat anti-choice politicians, and to elect and re-elect pro-choice officials dedicated to protecting a woman’s right to choose.

The mission of Tenth Dems University (TDU) is to inform and educate voters, and to encourage them to act on the issues which face our community, state and country.

All TDU classes are free, and they are open to all. Pre-registration is not required, but since many of our classes fill to capacity it is strongly recommended. Priority seating is given to those who pre-register, and if we exceed capacity those who did not register in advance might not be admitted. To register in advance, complete the form below.

The Deerfield Library provides meeting space as a community service. Neither the Library nor its Board spon-sors or endorses this event or the presenting individuals or organizations.
