America’s failure to tax the super rich because of Reaganomics addiction amplified by Tea Party zealots like Congressman Robert Dold, R-IL 10th, underlies paralysis of government at the state and federal levels. One great sorrow is that so many American subscribe to the fantasy that the tax cuts for the super rich and large corporations will engender job growth. The majority of Americans apparently subscribe also to the related fantasy that government spending inhibits job creation by the private sector and the tax cuts are necessary from that perspective. However the Congressional Budget Offic, a non-partisan organization, estimates the job growth from the tax cuts to be at the 0.1% level. America’s large corporations, have a large cash reserve and are and are likely to invest substantially in this nation with a low aggregrate demand. I hardly think that providing them with tax cuts will spur investment without an appreciable increase in aggregrate demand.
The tax cuts wil however give the Republican Tea Party zealots like CongressmanRobert Dold and closeted zealot Senator Mark Kirk the golden opportunity , given the concurrence of the majority of Americans in the Reaganomics fantasy, to implement the dire warnings of the late Senator Patrick Moynihan that the tax cuts have as the main goal the complete dismantling of Democratic programs dating back to the New Deal.
This is total war and we have to be prepared to astutely engage the zealots with everything we have in us lest our nation, communities, families and the global climate resiliency be destroyed.

It’s happening already. From health insurance reform to Wall Street reform, they have made their agenda clear: repeal and regress.
