Links 40th Anniversary Spring Benefit “Vintage Never Looked So Now”

The Stevenson Center on Democracy Program on 60th Anniversary of the Korean Armistice

When: Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Luncheon served 11:30 am, Program begins 12:00 pm

Where: The University Club of Chicago, 76 E. Monroe St., Chicago

What: The Stevenson Center hosts Ambassador Robert Gallucci, President of the MacArthur Foundation and veteran of Korea negotiations, and Professor Bruce Cummings, preeminent authority on North Korea, to discuss the peninsula and the way forward in this program “Korea on the 60th Anniversary of the Armistice: The Way Forward.” Senator Adlai Stevenson III will preside.

Mental Health America of Illinois “Fashion-Que” Event

What: Mental Health America of Illinois invites you to kick off the summer in style at “Fashion-Que” featuring independent boutiques and upscale BBQ by Man-B-Que. There will be music, silent auction and raffle. VIP ticket, $75, includes VIP seating for fashion show, priority in the BBQ buffet line and unlimited drinks. General Admission, $45, includes BBQ buffet and two drink tickets.

What: The Stevenson Center on Democracy presents Dr. Khairy Tourk, professor of Economics at Illinois Institute of Technology, who will speak on “The Middle East in Turmoil: A Political Economy Analysis.” A long-time observer of the world from within, his present focus is economic modernization in Egypt and the political economies of East Asia.
