CASA Lake County Young Professional’s Board “Cocktails for CASA”

When: Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm

What: Join the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) Lake County Young Professional’s Board at “Cocktails for CASA.” Appetizers, open bar, micro-brews, raffle and live music to benefit at-risk children who live in the local communities.

What: The Chicago Bar Association’s Alliance for Women presents Lori Goldstein, Esq., who will discuss work and life in the LGBT arena after the Supreme Court’s June DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) decisions. The impact of new Federal and Illinois laws will be covered.

Move to Amend, Greater Chicago North

When: Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 7:00 pm sharp

Where: Deerfield Public Library, 920 Waukegan Rd., Deerfield (downstairs)

What: Move to Amend Greater Chicago North works in a nonpartisan way to inform the public as to how money is being used to influence legislation that is not in the public’s interest. The meeting will cover planning for the expected McCutcheon v. FEC decision Flash Rally, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Fast Track vote and new finance reform legislation proposed in the House and the Senate. The group welcomes input from those at the meeting.
